The highlands of Nepal and the plateau of Tibet share the same Himalayan alpine region and look the same. The cold climate, the almost non-existent rainfall, and the bright sunny days all year round are the features of Tibet. These features make it a year-round destination and so our Nepal Tibet Tour is available throughout the year.
Tibet is often regarded as a conflict region between China and Tibet but politically speaking, Tibet is a part of China and is under the regime of the People’s Republic of China. However, some people especially Tibetans consider it to be an independent state. Whatever, the case might be, the only thing that is true is the fact that Tibet is very appealing and stunningly beautiful.
One can actually visit Mount Everest from Tibet, the road to the base camp from the Tibet side is in very good condition. In addition to that, places like Mt. Kailash, Mapang Lake, Namucuo Lake, Nyang Qu River, and more make the Nepal Tibet Tour a vividly diverse nature tour.
Moreover, our Nepal Tibet tour itinerary takes you to visit sites like Drepung Monastery, Potala Palace, Sera Monastery, Tibet Museum, Jokhang Temple, and more. Places of historic and religious significance will be a theme for our Nepal and Tibet tour. But before we set foot in Tibet, we will visit Kathmandu and Pokhara and explore the sites within both the valleys.
Entering Tibet can be a hassle but thanks to our experts we can get the deal done effectively. The local government does not usually consider individual travel permit applications, they are more focused on group visits and applications from authorized travel agencies.
The Nepal Tibet tour is a diverse tour experience taking you to visit a bunch of sites that are so vastly different but nonetheless interesting and enjoyable at the same time. Here’s all that you need to know about the Nepal and Tibet tour.
Upgraded Accommodation
Our standard 9 days Nepal Tibet tour package offers a 3-star hotel stay throughout the Nepal Tibet tour. However, you can also upgrade your accommodation to 4-star or 5-star hotels throughout the Nepal and Tibet tour. We will work out the upgrade, let you know the whereabouts of your upgraded stay, and adjust the total pricing of the tour accordingly. Some towns may not have upgraded hotels available for the date you are visiting in which case we are not able to provide an upgraded stay in that particular location.Since upgrades are not covered by the tour package, the expenses related to the upgrades will be added to the 9 days Nepal Tibet tour price.
How does our trip start?
The Nepal Tibet tour starts in Kathmandu, the first day of the Nepal and Tibet tour takes us to Pokhara for a beautiful daycation in the tourist capital of Nepal. There we will visit a bunch of scenic places that will make you want to stay there for a couple more days and explore the attractions fully. The following day, we will get back to Kathmandu and visit the attractions of the valley before calling it a day. On the 5th day of the 9 days Nepal Tibet tour, we will finally reach Lhasa via a flight from Kathmandu.
Best seasons
Tibet is one of the least precipitated regions of the world which makes it dry but it also means that you can visit the region all year round. Unless you are planning to visit some remotevillages that might be inaccessible due to heavy snowfall in winter, you can visit Tibet any time of the year.
The scenes of the surroundings remain the same throughout the year, the skies are clear and bright, the air is clear, and the sunlight illuminates all. The only noticeable difference is the green grass patches and wildflowers that bloom in spring and remain throughout summer.
Altitude Sickness
At Laken La Pass, we reach the maximum altitude of the Nepal and Tibet tour, a staggering 5186 meters above sea level. But we will not be spending much time there, in fact, we are just crossing the pass to get to Namtso Lake. For the majority of the Nepal Tibet tour, we will be under the altitude of 4000 meters. Altitude sickness at such low elevation is not unheard of but is very trivial. Many people will suffer slight effects of altitude sickness but brush it off as a slight headache, you won’t even know you got altitude sickness that’s how tiny its effects are at lower elevation.
Accommodation, Food and Drink
Accommodation throughout the 9 days Nepal Tibet tour will be in 3-star hotels which is covered by our Nepal and Tibet tour package. These hotels will provide you with all the extra services they offer and most of all make your stay comfortable. If you are in search of more luxury, you can also an upgraded accommodation.
Tsampa, Thenthuk, Shephaley, hot pot, noodles, and rice, are the staple foods of the region. You will get these foods at every eatery along the Nepal Tibet tour itinerary. We recommend you try the hot pot which comes with tofu, meat, and some local vegetables like mushrooms, spinach, etc. Yak meat is the local delicacy of the region and you should try that out too.
Butter tea, Tibetan herbal tea, local beer, milk tea, and Chyang are the main drinks of the region. The locally brewed beer and Chyang are the most consumed alcoholic drinks of Lhasa while the others are hot beverages for a cold region.
Transportation
Flight from Kathmandu to Lhasa and back, land transport from Kathmandu to Pokhara and back, and sightseeing transport around the cities are a part of the 9 days Nepal Tibet tour package. In addition to that, we also provide free airport pickup and drop-off.

However, you must pack some essentials for this 9 days Nepal Tibet tour. Land transport and air transport are the only two ways to get to Lhasa from Kathmandu. You can take a helicopter to the border of Lhasa but private aircraft are not allowed entry to the region to Tibet.
Yes, it is very safe to visit Tibet. Crime rates are very low in Tibet and it is very rare to encounter any kind of crime during your 9 days Nepal Tibet tour. There are CCTVs everywhere since the Chinese government make sure to keep an eye on the Tibetans and there are patrol guards everywhere, some are even undercover.
