After breakfast, our tour guide will take us today to visit historical monuments in Bhaktapur Durbar Square. From there, we will then proceed towards Nagarkot, 32 km away from Kathmandu- known as the mountain resort of Nepal acclaimed for its magical sunrise view.
Our first stop Bhaktapur is a small jewel, an ancient and dormant village, where every corner offers exciting glimpses of local life one after the other. We will explore its Durbar Square- a huge square surrounded by ancient palaces, temples, and monasteries, and the Nyatapola Temple, one of the tallest and most impressive temples in Nepal.
After exploring this medieval city, we will resume our road trip to Nagarkot where we will dine and settle for the night.
We will wake up before dawn and head towards the Nagarkot Observation deck. This Viewpoint blesses us with the most incredible sunrise you can ever watch anywhere in the world. Watch the illuminating mountains of Everest, Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, Langtang, and Gaurishankar shining under the golden hue of the morning sun.
After clicking some photos and spending some time here, we will head to our hotel for breakfast. We will now drive back to Kathmandu and en route, we will make a brief stop at the famous Changu Narayan Temple.
It is one of the oldest surviving Hindu temples in Nepal. The temple was built around the 5th century to worship Lord Vishnu – one of the three famous guardian gods of Hinduism. The elaborately carved bronze door to the temple is a testament to the sophisticated art of bronze casting and metal plating of ancient Nepalis.
After the temple visit, we will return to our hotel in Kathmandu and sleep early for the exciting adventure awaiting us the next day.
Fasten your seat belts as we will go on an exciting trip to Chitwan National Park – the former game reserve of the Royalties and now one of the world heritage sites protected as green forest. The National Park spans over 952.63 square kilometers with low-lying hills and dense forests.
The park has a wide range of wildlife: one-horned rhinoceros, several species of deer, sloth bears, leopards, wild boars, freshwater crocodiles, more than 450 species of birds, and the elusive Royal Tiger of Bengal.
Adjacent to the Park is the little village of the Tharu tribe where we can witness the lifestyle and daily activities of the Tharu community.
We will dedicate the entire day to exploring the rich landscape of Chitwan National Park. We will first go on an exhilarating jeep or elephant safari in the park and encounter numerous wildlife roaming in their natural habitat. If we are lucky enough, we may be those fortunate ones to see the Royal Bengal Tiger, and majestic one-horned rhinoceros on our first visit.
We can also observe elephants, antelopes, leopards, and monkeys, jumping from here and there among the trees. And don’t forget to look up for the enchanting view of flying birds.
Then, we will pay a short visit to the elephant nursery where we can observe the adorable baby elephants. If you like, you can also feed them milk from a bottle.
Then in the late afternoon, we will walk to the nearby town of Sauraha, a traditional village of the Tharu tribe. Here, you can immerse yourself in the rich culture of these inhabitants, see their traditional-style huts, and visit a small hut converted to a little museum where traditional tools and household items are kept on display.
Ending our trip, we will then go to watch a mesmerizing Tharu dance show. Held in a cultural center, the Tharu tribe displays their culture through traditional dances performed by talented young men and women. They will also demonstrate the spectacular fire show at the end of the show.
We will now retreat to our hotel and retire early for the next adventure in Pokhara.
After breakfast, we will drive to Pokhara- a Himalayan city now declared as the tourism capital of Nepal. Today, we will transition from the hot humid air of the Terai plains to the cool breeze of the Himalayas of Annapurna, Fishtail/Machhapuchhare, Hiunchuli, Dhaulagiri, and Lamjung Himal.
Our road trip will take us to Mugling, then our route leads us to the main road of Kathmandu Pokhara highway. Following the course of Marshyangdi and Seti River, we will reach Pokhara by early evening.
In the evening we can take a boat ride on Phewa Lake, the second-largest lake in Nepal and the center of all Pokhara attractions.
Early in the morning, we will head for a half-hour hike to Sarangkot Viewpoint at 1600 m elevation. Get ready for the magical sunrise spectacle over the majestic peaks of Dhaulagiri, Annapurna’s four lofty summits, Lamjung, Manaslu, and Machapuchre.
If you love birds and want to fill your honeymoon period with some adventure, then you can also go for a paragliding ride from Sarangkot at the cost of approximately $100 per person.

Kathmandu, Pokhara, and Chitwan offer pleasant climates all year round. These cities offer a temperate and warm environment even in the winter months of December, January, and February. The temperature often ranges between 19 to 21 degrees Celsius with clear sunny days but colder nights when the temperature can drop to -1 degree Celsius.
June, July, and August bring the hot weather with heavy rainfall. The thermometers can show 37 degrees Celsius temperature during the day. The night can be cooler bringing some relief.
