Although coming to Langtang Trek is good any time of the year. If you really want to experience the immense beauty of the valley then the best time for the Langtang Valley Trek will be Sep-Dec and Mar-May. The spring and autumn time will be the best as the newly bloomed flowers add more beauty to the Langtang Trek.
During this time you can expect a clear sky, with cool wind and the greenery around the Valley. The total driving distance from Kathmandu to Syaprubeshi is about 140 kilometers. The total trekking distance of the Langtang Trek is about 65 kilometers.
Talking about the elevation and distance of the Langtang Trek, every other day we will travel almost 1000 m above sea level. The steep will gradually increase to a maximum level of 4985m on the 5th day of the trek.
As we have briefly mentioned above, on the first day we will travel for 7-8 hours to Syabrubensi which is 1450m above. The second day 5-6 hrs. trekto lama hotel which is 2480 m above. On the third day, we reach the Valley after 3-4 hrs. of trek which is 3540 m above.
On the fourth day after 3-4 hrs, we will reach KyanjinGompa which is 3900m above. The next day after 6-7 hrs of trek we will reach a maximum level of 4985m on the 5th day of the trek. From the sixth day, the elevation will only decrease as we will be returning back to kathmandu.
The difficulty of the Langtang Valley Trek is considered to be moderate. From the age of 10 onwards anyone can go through this trek and complete it without any concussion. Almost everyone who has attempted this trek has completed it without any problems.
The chances of altitude sickness is also less because of the greenery around the valley. The weather here is also mild in this area so there won’t be any problem with altitude sickness.
On our 8 days of trekking, you will be engaging in an average of 6 hours of walking every day. The Maximum hours you will be walking is 7-8 hours. And the minimum hours you will be walking is 3-4 hours.
In this trek most probably you will be walking for 5-6 hours on average. On the second day, we will be walking for a 5-6 hrs trek. On the third day, we will be walking for 3-4 hrs of trek. On the fourth day, we will be walking for 3-4 hrs. The next day we will be walking for 6-7 hrs of trek. On the sixth day, we will be walking for 7-8 hours of trek and finally, on the 7th day, we will be walking for 4- 5 hours of trek.
In the valley, mostly Tamang people who follow Buddhism are accommodated in this area. The food and the culture here also resonate with the traditions of the Tamang people. They are also very good at hospitality for their guests.

They serve good food and shelter but the quality of the services will vary according to the altitude and also the condition and location of the place.
The prices of the food, drinks, and accommodation of the tea shops or the hotels in the lower altitudes are cheaper comparatively to the hotels run in higher altitude.
Apart from the prices being mix up, there are no complaints about the quality and quantity of the food and drinks. Here you can find the food as Nepali as it can get and also as American as it can get.
For Nepali food lovers, they have the best Nepali KhanaThali. It can also be called a Dal Bhat set served with rice, lentils, different vegetables, curry, and meat (only if you are non-vegetarian), with some pickles, yogurt, and pappad on the side.
Apart from the Nepali dishes, many hotels also serve momo (dumplings), chowmin, pizza, burgers, French fries, pasta, macaroni, etc. The best food which is famously popular in the Valley is Yak products. Mostly the Yak cheese and Yak milk are favored by all of the visitors here.
You can always buy some quick snacks and energy bars that can be beneficial further in the tiring part of the trek. In some parts of the valley, the famous homemade local beer and rum are also available but we suggest not to be entertained with it during the trek.
Instead, you can buy and take it with you as a memorandum of the trek. However, if you travel the valley in the peak season the price rates will be increased for all accommodation, food, and drinks.
This trip specifically focuses on Kathmandu to Langtang Valley trek. If the trekkers have to add few more stops or stays in the middle of the trek then they definitely can. Some extra costs are to be charged though.
If the trekkers are to extend the trek while coming back to Kathmandu then it can also be done. There are other routes as well to return to Kathmandu from the valley itself. The other alternative routes are from Gosaikunda and Helambu. To change to any of the trails the trek should be extended by a few days.

It will take a total of 7-8 days of trekking to the Langtang Valley while walking 6-7 hours every day on an average. It takes a lot of foot power to achieve the distance to walk nonstop at this time. The preparations and briefing are done on the first day in Kathmandu before we start the journey. Further, help will be provided only if someone is having problems in their breathing during the trek.
The preparations are only done in the initial time of the trek but the guides are all friendly so you can communicate with them if you are having any problems or questions. Also, chocolate bars and energy bars come in very handy for the trek. You can easily get it from the grocery store in Kathmandu or it can be available in the shops of the Langtang Valley itself.
The electricity and internet also vary from place to place. Some hotels have free and high-speed internet and electricity to charge your electronic devices. While some of the places charge a few rupees to use the internet of the hotel, some places do not have the service of internet at all.
If you happen to buy a Nepal Telecom or Ncellsim card then you can easily get connected to the internet with a data connection and use it anywhere. The only drawback to this is that depending on your location or weather change, sometimes the signal gets lost because of the tower problem. But it happens only 5% of the time.
The price and the services for the electricity and the internet differs everywhere. As the ranges of the tower and the connection might not be viable everywhere the services are different regarding this situation.
The permits are necessary to travel in the country unless you are a citizen of Nepal. Without these two permits, the TIMS and the entry pass, you won’t be able to proceed forward. Don’t forget to carry them.
For foreigners, a TIMS (Trekkers Information Management System) card will cost you roughly around $20 if you are a single traveler. While travelling with a group, will cost you roughly around $10 per person. If you plan to visit the Langtang National Park then it will cost you roughly around $14 if you are from the SAARC nationality and roughly around $28 for other nationalities.
And lastly, if you are a Free Individual Traveler (FIT) from the SAARC nationals it will cost you around $6 and if you are from other nationals then it will cost you about $3.
One does not have to think more about the National Park and the TIMS permits as they are easily available after registering and following easy steps. It is authentic and also approved by the government so there will not be any issue for getting one.
The only transportation provided in this trek will be on the first and the last day. On the first day, a public bus will be provided to travel from Kathmandu to Syabrubensi. On the last day, after the completion of the Langtang Valley Trek, again public bus will be provided to travel back to Kathmandu from Syabrubensi.
While travelling to high altitude someone will have a problem with the legs, that is very normal. We have solution for that too. When a person is not able to travel further properly then in that case private jeeps can also be managed. You have to pay an extra cost for it.
Every vehicle used in this trip has an authentic insurance card. There wont be any false vehicle, or false promises or such. The insurance of the trekkers are also checked before the trek starts for safety reasons.

From a good trekking shoe to a trekking stick and a torch would be better to carry for the Langtang trek. Other gears such as Swiss Knife, lighter, compass are not necessary needed. For the clothes some jackets, breathable trekking clothes, and a cap are necessary needed for this Langtang Valley Trek.
To make your Langtang Trek easier a trekking stick can be managed but the trekker who borrowed has to return the item after the trek.

Yes, the animals are welly protected in well managed cages. Till this date no complaints has been recorded about the animals of the Langtang National Park. Every animals are also well taken care of so there is less danger in the national park. The animals that we can witness along the trails of the Langtang Trek are also less dangerous.
Yes, as per the trekkers comfort and stamina the Langtang Valley Trek can be shorten and extend aswell. As mentioned above there are alternative routes as well after you have completed the Langtang Valley Trek. While returning back to Kathmandu, the trekkers can trel towards Gosaikunda or Helambu to extend their Langtang Trek.
